Privacy policy
Effective 1 November 2026
AstroSlide is a mobile game made by Rain Software, a studio in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you play it on Android or iOS. If you have a question, email [email protected].
The short version
- There's no AstroSlide account. We don't ask for your name, email or anything else about you.
- Your progress, stats, unlocks and settings are saved on your device only. We never receive them.
- The game sends us anonymous usage stats (how runs go and which menus get used) so we can improve it. They aren't tied to you, and you can turn them off in Settings → Usage Stats.
- The free game shows ads from Google AdMob. Google collects some device data to show and measure those ads. Where the law requires it, you're asked first, and you can change your choice at any time.
- Purchases go through Google Play or the App Store. We never see your payment details.
Data kept on your device
AstroSlide saves your game profile (scores, best waves, Daily Orbit streak, missions, achievements and cosmetics), your settings (sound, music, vibration and similar), and whether you've bought the Supporter Pack. This data stays in the app's private storage on your phone or tablet and is never sent to us. Uninstalling the game deletes it. If your device backs up app data (for example Android backup or iCloud), the backup is handled by Google or Apple under their own policies.
Anonymous usage statistics
To learn what to improve, the game sends a few anonymous events about how it's played: when a session starts and ends, when a run starts and how it ends (the mode, wave, score, time played and which hazard ended it), whether a Revive or a between-run ad was shown, which menus were opened, and whether a Supporter Pack purchase was started and how it ended (not the payment itself). Each event also carries the platform (Android or iOS), the game's version and whether the game runs in its low-graphics mode.
Events are tied to a random ID the game creates on your device. It isn't your advertising ID or any other device or account ID, and we don't combine it with anything that could identify you. We don't collect your location: the service is told not to look up where requests come from, and is set to discard IP addresses.
The statistics are stored by PostHog (PostHog Inc.), which processes them for us, on its servers in the European Union. We keep them only as long as they help us improve the game.
Your choice. Turn off Settings → Usage Stats and the game stops sending events and deletes the random ID from your device. Because the ID isn't linked to you, we can't find or delete events already sent, but they can't be connected to you either.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to show an optional rewarded ad (the "Revive" offer) and occasional full-screen ads between runs. To serve ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect:
- device identifiers: the advertising ID on Android, the IDFA on iOS (only if you allow tracking), and app-scoped IDs such as the app set ID or IDFV;
- your approximate location, derived from your IP address;
- ad interactions, such as which ads were shown and whether you tapped them;
- diagnostic and performance information about the ad SDK, and basic device details such as model, OS version and language.
Google acts as an independent controller of this data under its own terms. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, and anywhere else the law requires it, the game shows Google's consent form before any ads load. If you decline personalised ads, you still see ads, but they aren't based on your personal profile. You can change your answer any time under Settings → Privacy Options in the game. On iOS, the game asks Apple's "Allow tracking" question before any ad request. If you say no, the IDFA isn't shared, and you can change this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Google settings.
Buying the Supporter Pack turns off the between-run ads for good, and Revive no longer plays an ad.
Purchases
The Supporter Pack is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play Billing on Android and the App Store on iOS. Google or Apple processes the payment. The game only learns whether the purchase went through, so it can unlock the pack. We never receive your card details, billing address or store account details.
Leaderboards and achievements
If you sign in to Google Play Games (Android) or Game Center (iOS), the game sends your scores and achievement progress to that service. Your player name or nickname and your scores may be visible to other players, depending on your Play Games or Game Center profile settings. Google and Apple run these services under their own privacy policies. Sign-in is optional, and you can play everything without it.
Sharing
The Share button makes a picture of your run on your device and opens your phone's own share menu. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose an app to share it with.
Children
AstroSlide isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Ads are requested with a "not child-directed" setting and a maximum content rating of PG. If you think a child has used the game in a way that needs our attention, contact us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the Australian Privacy Act or US state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to or limit its use, and to withdraw consent. The usage statistics we hold are anonymous, and you can stop them at any time in Settings → Usage Stats. Because we don't hold any personal information about you, most requests are best made directly to Google or Apple, who hold the advertising, purchase and game-services data described above. You can withdraw consent for personalised ads at any time in Settings → Privacy Options. We'll still help: email us and we'll answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, which in Australia is the OAIC.
Retention and international transfers
Apart from the anonymous usage statistics above, we don't store your data, so there's nothing for us to retain or delete. Google and Apple may process the data described above in other countries, including the United States, under their own safeguards and retention periods.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the effective date at the top. If a change significantly affects how your information is used, we'll also note it in the game's update notes.
